Admission

Can be registered at the higher institutes of training of the Masters:

Holders of baccalaureat of the current year and, failing this, holders of the baccalaureat of the previous year and this, according to the conditions fixed by decree of the Minister for the higher education.

All the candidates are subjected to a psychotechnical test whose conditions are fixed by decree of the Minister for the higher education.

Each student teacher must, at the time of his inscription, deposit an engagement on stamped paper carrying his authenticated signature stipulating that he/she is committed to exert for ten years in the school establishments concerned with the ministry for education. If he is a minor, this engagement must be subscribed by his/her father or his tutor.


Organization of the formation

The formation at the higher institutes of training of the Masters lasts two years; it is completed by obtaining the diploma of end of studies from the higher institutes of training of the Masters. The programs of the studies and the mode of the formation are fixed by decree of the Minister for the higher education.

The redoubling in first and second years is strictly prohibited.

Assiduity with the courses is obligatory. Any absence not justified within one day or part of the day involves the deduction of the 1/30 E of lying of the monthly scholarship granted to the student teacher envisaged in article 8 of the decree n° 91-1871 of November 7, 1991. Five not justified absences, in one course, prevent the student teacher from taking part in the examination of the course concerned. If the student teacher is not authorized any more to pass 50% of the examinations, he/she is excluded from all the higher institutes of training of the Masters.

The student teachers are compelled with a mode of boarding school, except in certain exceptional cases where the Minister for education can authorize, by individual decision, the residence outside the boarding school.

Statute of the student teachers

The student teachers of the higher institutes of training of the Masters profit, during the twelve months of the year, from a monthly scholarship. Moreover, at the beginning of each school year an additional allowance of maintenance is given to cover the expenditure of supplies and schoolbooks. The amounts of the scholarship and additional allowance are fixed by joint decree of the education and Ministers for Finance

The student teachers must refund the sums which were allocated to them in the following cases:

- The final exclusion of the institute.

- The voluntary abandonment of the formation at the institute.

- The revocation before the end of the ten year period

- The resignation before the end of the ten years period

- The refusal to exert after the formation.

The former definitively allow student teachers , on their request, to profit from two years of seniority which they will make validate for the calculation of their retirement pension.
 

Mode of the studies

The formation in the higher institute of training of the Masters takes over two years and is completed by obtaining the diploma of end of study of the higher institutes of training of the Masters.
